As a Lotus fan it is a very good news. But 285 hp is too low IMO. Because it will be challenged with Dodge Competition Coupé, Ferrari 430 Challenge, Maserati Trofeo Light , Porsche 997 Cup Aston Martin DBS9 ,Lamborghini Gallardo ,TVR Sagaris , Venturi GT3 Heritag. And they are so powerfull cars. I think 250 hp per tone will not help to Exige

in GT3, where the exige GT3 will race from 2007 onwards, cars are handicapped to a greater or lesser degree to ensure a more or less equal power to weight ratio...

I hope so otherwise the torque by the Viper alone will be huge vs some of the other cars at the bigger tracks. Will be interesting to see this season.

Yea, thats the only thing that bothers me, the torque to weight ratio of the car wouldnt be up to par but Im sure it will still be competitive.

Actually Ive no clue which power/weight ratio is used currently by the lotus rivals; nonetheless its great news to hear that Lotus is returning to the competition; what a shame that the company is not bought by a big corporation and therefore they dont have as much budget as ferrari, porsche or lamborghini; on the other hand, its a shame as well that the British GT Championship doesnt have every racetrack as Angelesea or Castle Combe; otherwise the other teams would be in trouble to follow the lotusīs pace

Lotus is owned by Proton, which is a major player in Malaysia
Another thing...I dont understand why they are using the 1.8L, I read maybe 6 months ago that they [Lotus] built someone a v6 powered exige that was longer and wider, as well as complied with all FIA GT championships around the world. Surely they could just detune it to BGT spec and run that
