imo go for a Kompessor and you wont really need to fiddle with the engine ....

kompressor = to much money for insurence, parts, engines arnt as high quiality, and i like the older "less sporty" design. ![Very Happy](images/custom_smilies/veryhappy.gif) ...it makes me look more ... professional

The 2.3 liter Kompressor engine is actually quite sturdy. Supposedly one of the tougher engines in the MB lineup. Plus, a cheap pulley upgrade (couple hundred bucks) will net you an extra 30hp or so (I had that done on my SLK 230K).
Quite a few people modded their 230K and never experienced any problems (with tens of thousands of kilometers on their engines).
Just my two cents...

the biggest thing keeping me from getting a MB is that they don't sell any manuals here in Canada.

He is confused, there are manuals. I think he means no manual in the AMG lineup.
EDIT - Owais, I happen to live in Canada too.

Maybe he means that they don't sell manual in Canada.
I would leave the MB and go for an Audi. because the interior quality build is not as good as the Audi.. Reliability can't really say. Audi over here have a very bad reputation because of the dealer but if you have good dealers in service and good maintinance prices for the Audi.. go for it and leave MB.. It's for old people unless your getting an AMG..
