Default Camo. Jaguar XKR

Our spies have taken the wraps off Jaguar’s next-generation XK coupe (see our upcoming May 2 cover story for more), but bagging the more elusive performance XKR has proven a bit tougher. The best spy shot so far details the upcoming XKR’s quad exhaust and a slight hood bulge to allow space for supercharging the 4.2-liter V8 underneath, but heavy camouflage hides other performance cues.

In XKR trim, look for the new luxo-super-coupe to produce at least 400 hp, channeled to the rear wheels via the same six-speed, paddle-shifted automatic found on the XK8. We also hear a 450-hp XKR-R model is in the works, due to follow the XKR into production some time in 2007.

sound strange as this would place it in direct competition with aston martin cars, with all that power, and for much less, maybe ford intends to add even more power to aston martin cars
