oh for fucks sake, it's the "new" turtles which means it's going to blow more chunks than a wood chipper in an old growth forest I won't be caught dead watching that

Ninja Turtles are still popular? They weren't even popular when I was growing up.

You missed it by a few years.
They were popular when i was about 6 or 7.
And it's not that they are still popular, they are just being brought back, but it's a new version of them so it's not going to have the nostalgic feel that it should.

I would hope not, your how old?
They were popular when i was about 6 or 7.

It couldnt have been that long ago.. I was 8-10... I was a turtle fan back then.
That being said its a cartoon. Its not exactly supposed to be marketed at you or me. I have no clue if its popular with 6-8 year olds.. The fact that they have a new cartoon which apparently has been running for a while proves there is some interest in that age group.. Prolly a counter to the pokemon phenomenon you mentioned.. In the end little boys still want action, not the sissy shit they show to our youth now.
According to wickipedia the kids show ran from about 1987 to 1996..
The two movies were 1990 and 1991. I think that was the height of there popularity. As I said, 8-10.

hey, you'd laugh if you knew some of the movies i've gone to see (Finding Nemo, Shrek 2 etc)
I remember playing with them in Kindergarten and 1st grade. So yeah i know i was 6 or 7. And you're a year older than me, so yes. the ime line is correct And there were 3 movies. The 3rd one they went back in time. It didn't do that well 1990 would have put me in 2nd grade. That was about the time i started getting into Calvin and Hobbes.

the third one was 'better' then the second one lol
after the Cartoon, they had a Jim Henson style 'real' TV show for a couple years on either before, after, or in place of the power rangers... i dono
i think its a mistake to do the show in CG... but then again, Henson' puppets without Henson isnt exactly the same...
Damn i miss the Muppets
