Apparently, in Japan at least, each mandatory full service costs $1000 after you've been on the track.

Well... I guess it's not really a service. More like an inspection.

I also hear that dealers have to be specially tooled and employ specialists, making it rather expensive for official dealers/service centers, so Nissan's thinking that all the profits from their expensive servicing should go to itself. Makes sense for a business, but it won't make it popular.
