Another Review of the New E60 M5

Not a "professional" review by any magazine, but gives you an idea of what to expect:

Thanks for the article man!! The guy who wrote the article is Bob Harper chief editor of BMWCar so I think it is professional but not complete though. :D

I thought it was his personal opinions versus an article he actually wrote for the magazine...in either case, it certainly makes me more interested in seeing what it can do...versus trying to get past the looks...

Dam it sounds so sweet, but what is bmw once the mercedes 65 series come out?

JiggaStyles09 09-09-2004 08:41 PM

eh who cares, i assume you mean the E65?

i dont that that the E65 if there really is going to be one would really dethrone the M5. the M5 i dont think will carry that type of exclusivity (it will be rare but not that rare). the 65 AMG series are supposed to be ultra rare/exclusive and plus the new M5 would probably eat that thing alive on a track. We all saw how the CL65 handled.

"Its aggressive front end gets traffic moving out of your way like Moses parting the Red sea" Lol

I think the M5 is aimed at a different market to the 65 AMGs. The top line AMGs are solely 'bahnstomers that are designed to be comfortable and very quick. Whereas the M5 is a more sporty machine that is designed to be driven hard around a circuit, but then also can adapt to a saloon car for the long drive home.

My dealership has already sold two of the M5's and fortunatley there are only 4 other techs i work with and someone has to do the pre-delivery inspection, which of course involves a test drive
I'll try and snatch up one of them or at least go on the test drive with one of the guys and give you a full report...chances are though i'll have to change my shorts first. one of the guys held an FIA class B license for awhile so if he gets to PDI one, i'll definetly try to hop on board. Keep an eye on this post for my update

Instead of one E65AMG, I buy a M5 and one M3 CSL. Two cars for the same price as one
