A Ferrari estate?? Is that a custom job? I've seen pictures of a super stretch Porsche 911 limousine, that's the same sort of (crazy) thing. I should be so rich one day that I can have a Ferrari custom made to suit my grocery shopping needs. :D

i read somewhere that he has like 3000 rare and exotic cars. only a few of them are even known. i guess he has a slew of mechanics contsantly maintaining them. i read somewhere that ferrari fx has a special gearbox that is one of a kind worth a milltion dollars alone. anyway i think that they arent the sultan's cars. i am pretty sure that they are his son's prince jefri.

If I had that kinda money, thats not what Id be spending it on. Half those Ferraris look absolutely terrible IMO, and that Bentley Dominator looks like it has cheap plastic hub caps (even if they're platinum rims). He must just buy for the rare factor so he can sell them for bucket loads later on down the road.

I've heard a bunch of things about the Sultan. Somewhere I heard/read that he feuded with his brother over who could buy the biggest and best stuff and in the process wasted a tonne of his countries wealth and that many of his people live in poverty.

Now, on the car front, he has a few Dauer 962's plus all the stuff mentioned above. Many of the cars he has are different colours. I think this is so that he drive a car with a certain colour to match his emotional state of the day. What a guy...

What again comes to sultans cars collection - there is 5-6 F50s in diff colours, some F40's McLarens etc etc... Quite everything.

And one more facinating fact - Sultan wanted to but BMW's concept car - X5 LM with 700 hp under the bonnet. but BMW refured the Sultan's offer and has not sold this car (yet).

yes he was sent to england, on ONLY 500,000 a month! he was very sad and complained to the sultan that he needed a million a month AT least! him and the prince jefri were the big buyers of all the cars, and no they arent bankrupt, but the net worth is nearly half after his brothers spending fiasco! some of the cars are being sold, he has flight simulators, among other toys! we should make this the official sultan thread! ill try and find some links later as i have seen pics of the house and parts of the garage....

I read some years ago that the sultan had 5000 cars at that point. The article also said that due to the bad economical times in Brunei the sultans four garages (all of them the sizes of warehouses) were closed and the cars just stood there and collected dust. :(

Anyway 3000 of the cars were sportcars and the other 2000 were luxury cars like rolls royces and bentleys. You've already mentioned some of the cars that he owns like 6 ferrari f50 etc. He also has or had a specially made Bentley Turbo Estate with 4wd. The sultan wanted the car with those specifications because he was going to use when driving to and from polo games and the polofield can be a bit muddy, therefore the 4wd :roll: . He also has some specially made Aston Martins that costed something like 3 million dollars a piece. He also has every years winning F1 cars from at least late 80:s/early 90:s to 2000.

I can also recall him having 80 miles of private higway that went straight ahead all the way. That highway has to go through the whole country because Brunei isn't big.

Before the financial crisis he had salespeople from many carmanufactures employed full time to sell him cars. He bought something 40 Rolls Royces a year so maybe that was necessary. The salesman from Aston Martin got more money than the president of Aston Martin and a Rolex as a welcomegift.

Oh another thing. He has some classic Mercedes 300SL "gullwing". Nothing special with that but he has replaced many of the things in the car including the engine to a modern engine and tecnology from the previous Mercedes SL built in the 90s. I think the original engine was replaced with the SL600 v12-engine. My question is why? Why destroy a nice car like that? I read that he sultan's favourite car is or was at least the Mercedes SL build in the 90s, so maybe thats the answer. He has thousands of great cars and his favourite is the Mercedes SL. I don't think he is that interested in cars. Maybe he has 5000 cars cause he can't be bothered to refuel them. When a car goes out of gas he rather buy a new one with a filled tank than refuel the old one. :lol:

Also, the Sultan has thousands of cars, but due to the trouble within the family (with his brother) he has locked the garages, and it is unknown if he has started to enjoy these cars again.

He has five McLaren F1's, many Bentley's and Ferraris. Most of his cars are custom made by the manufacturer. It was recently reported that he had ordered 30 new Rolls Royce Phantoms, but he has denied this.

There is a lack of information on this guy's massive and unique collection, i think that somebody should created a dedicated website.... :wink:

I think humans get pleasure one things that are unique and to some point very limited, once in a lifetime experiences, like sleeping with Britney (or any of your dreams females), or having a Mclaren for day.

The blue car and the two pictures of the red one are of the Pininfarina Mythos which was based on the Ferrari Testarossa of the 80's and 90's...the one in the picture that you've identified as a Tamora is in fact a Tuscan S, not a Tamora (it even says so on the back end)

from what i heard he didn't buy the cars himself, but it was his brother. i forget how many warehouess of cars they had. later on heard that he got mad at his brother for spending so much and was losing money himself, so he just started selling the cars off and no longer has the collection he once had. they would basically just let a few co-workers use them and special guests every once in a while. its pretty pointless if you ask me. i guess it can be a status symbol, but what ever. from my point of view it just shows greed and he never knew the value the cars meant to others. can you imagine owning hundreds posibly thousands of cars and them all having over 500hp? sounds like fun right?, NO. when they get into drive one they could never tell the difference exept for the blind spot. it makes me mad to see how these cars were wasted, hopefully now they have a better home.

2 of those Ferrari estates are for sale (autocar wrote about this last year). Price was about 275 000 £ which is VERY EXTREMELY cheap compared to the cost to produce those cars!

He maintains a harem, and I don't mean a harem of 20 girls, I mean a harem of hundreds of women! Plus, everytime some famous actress crops up, no matter which country, he makes them an offer. I've heard lots of stories of asian acressess being made offers of millions of $$$. Even when they are simply invited, they're given jewelry, watches, you name it. If they accept to sleep with the one who invited them (usually Jefri, but it could be anyone from the sultanate), they're paid in cash.

Now throw in the cars, the palaces, the jets, the properties in London, Monaco, Monte Carlo, Italy, Spain, Sweden, etc. and you can imagine what kind of a life they live.

they are all custom ordered by the sultan and his brother... i read that he has well over 2000 cars most of which never get driven and end up getting destroyed by the lack of use!! i also read that alot of the cars that do get driven (and broken down by harsh driving) get repaired using parts off of other of the same models!! alot of cars end up getting stripped and their frames dumped off cliffs into the ocean! I am really interested in planning a trip over there as a dream goal in my life and going into all the giant warehouses where the cars are stored and taking awesomely documented info on most of them bcuz alot of these cars are one of a kind!! thats what happens when you are filthy rich!! personally i would love to be able to drive and own cars out the whazoo and be able to destroy them and not worry about costs but DAMN what he does is RIDICULOUS!
I dream about the crazy things that he has that Ive never even imagined were possible.. He used to have bentley powered with twin turbo Rolls Royce Engines!! Thats how crazy this gets...
Something to take into consideration.... when Ferrari/Paninfarina and other companies design Prototype Cars that dont make it into the production line they present working/running models to the Prince/Sultan so that if they like them they can purchase them..!
