laptop doesn't see new battery

I just bought a new battery for my laptop. I plugged it in but my computer doesn't see it.

Do i need to do something to make it register?

what kind of laptop? make and model..

did you buy a battery made by a 3rd party company or one directly from the laptop manufacturer?

you should be able to just plug it in and start charging it up like it was your old battery..

after leaving it turned off and plugged in for about 30 minutes it started reading info from it. It's finicky though :? It doesn't always start charging it and my power light will blink as if its a bad battery, but it charged up at work today and i'm battery power now for the first time in over a year :lol:
