Your best bet would be one from Logitech or Altec Lansing. The logitech Z5300 is pretty decent although it's probably slightly over your budget. Most likely you'll be looking at the Logitech Z640 or the Altec Lansing VS3151.

If u need serious "boom boom" effect, I suggest u raise ur budget a little and get what Alien suggested (or even the z-680) but if u insist that's ur budget and don't mind a little less base, try X-530 it's really not bad at all. And it undercuts ur budget by quite abit too ;)

Here's a breif review.

The only line that worth in Creative is the Gigasound made by cambridge , all the inspire are cheap chinese speakers

Hm, I have these logitech thingies. Z-620 for the PC, they are 6.1s. They are quite alright, sound much better then some of the much more expensive competition. Ill recomend them.

I have a Logitech z680 setup and find that it has a great sound, rivals most larger low end home theatre setups.
I don't use the woofer that much but the speakers are very good for the price with good clean amplification.
The speaker wire they provide is shite though, best budget for some better stuff.
