Very American. Love it.
Shame you can't hear too much of the LSA motor, but what a sound!

Not to mention, the interior is on par with a standard 5er and close to the merc E series to boot

or are you just trolling?

Absolutely. The CTS-V puts out more power and more torque per pound than any of its competitors. And it'll fly past all those German supersedans when they get bogged down by the stupid 155mph speed limiter.

You must be the only one who thinks a Caddy "is on part with" germans sedan. No doubt it has got the same amount of power as the german supersedans but there is a reason why they cost more.

No he is not the only one, and neither are the thousands of people around the world who buy them.

And the reason they cost more? Maybe its because people are willing to pay more because they dont know any better?

Not only will it fly past them, it will beat them to 155 mph as well

the term is "On par with"

Actually, Cadillac have one-upped the Germans, not only in styling, but in engineering as well with the new Cadillac CTS.... and the V is a HUGE leap forward.

As you can tell, I'm not the only one who "thinks" this.... let the numbers, and the reviews do the talking, not some internet hero's who hate American cars.

Numbers by the book, source: Autotrader.com:

2008 E63 AMG
Power: 507 hp @ 6800 rpm
Torque: 465 ft-lbs @ 5200 rpm
weight: 4035 lbs
lb/ hp : 7.96
Transmission: Automatic

2008 BMW M5
Power: 500 hp @ 7750 rpm
Torque: 383 ft-lbs @ 6100 rpm
Weight: 4012 lbs
lb/ hp : 8.02
Transmission: Sequential flappy paddle

2009 Cadillac CTS-V
Power: 550 HP
Torque: 550
Weight: 4200 lbs
lb/hp : 7.64
transmission: 6 speed 6060 manual, or an optional automatic for poseurs

Have you ever thought that BMW would ever consider lowering its price?
Besides, they can always find excuses for stacking up prices. Developing an engine singularly designed for one model, not making enough of them, "brand" pricing, etc...

I'm sure that Cadillac could raise the price on the CTS-V, but... you know what? We don't know how much Cadillac's going to charge for the new CTS-V.

Urm, Nth? You got that hp/lb backwards, man. It should be lb/hp. So it means the CTS-V has the least to lug around!

Oh, and BMW M5
lb/hp (2): 10.03 (most of the time)

Rumors on the CTS-V pricing are set around $62,000 ... cheaper then a C6 Z06 even!

E63 AMG : $85,000 MSRP
BMW M5 : $82,900 MSRP

^Haha. I wouldn't have caught that if I hadn't done a power to weight calculation of my own.
