The RS4 is very NA. You are thinking of the old one..

If you look around in JW you will find a couple of road tests of the E60 M5. I suspect you can't download the TG and 5th Gear reviews but there are plenty of articles..

To bmw06m6; actually M cars weren't the first super sedans. AMG had their 6.3 litre sedan in the seventies. And for residuals M:cars are not that great. AMG:s and Audi RS:s are better here in Sweden.

You're right, I was thinking the older one. It looks like the new one will do a 0-60 in 4.7 seconds as well .... AWD .... $55,000 start price ... and not much of a back seat, I still pick my semi-American/Canadian/German car .......

Looks like a sharp car ... regardless, the 300C SRT-8 and it's cousins, Charger SRT-8, Magnum SRT-8 and the Jeep still remain to be very impressive 4 doors, being NA, and all under $45k

If it takes a $52,000 Cadillac, a $55,000 Audi, or a $90,000 BMW to compete .. well, so be it .... I'm happy anyways .... and I'm sure Chrysler is too .....

Now, for my exhaust and computer chip .... back to the track ....

Nice - it's a pity DC couldn't have made the car a little more nimble in stock form.

You are completely blind by your "M5 indoctrination". Keep in mind the Audi RS4 doesn't have anything to do with your list of RWD cars. The RS4 has the quattro system which is best 4WD device in the world today. Of more, the heritage of Audi Motorsport is much more glorious than M Motorsport. Audi Motorsport began with the Auto Unions in the 1930s. Fifty years later quattro left its mark in world rallying while the 1990s saw Audi dominate the Touring and Super Touring categories of motor racing after success in circuit racing Stateside. Since 1999, Audi has concentrated its efforts in endurance sportscar racing and has now won 5 years consecutive the world famous 24 hours of LeMans.

If I had to choose a RWD sedan I would take the old Lotus Opel Omega. This car from the beginning of the 90's can literally crushed any E34 M5 and E39 M5 in term of performance.

In the UK it was branded as the [Vauxhall] Lotus Carlton - and it you're right it was an absolute animal

Entirely subjective but I think the 300C is just a Gangsta' pimpin' "Supersize Me" tank version of an already ageing, overweight DaimlerChrlyser model. You can stick a large engine into it, but that doesn't mean it can can be compared to an M5/RS4...

I think a lot of Mitsubishi fanatics would beg to differ..

But they'd still be wrong.

At least Audi 4WD setup doesn't self-destruct when you look at it skew..

You're right, that is subjective ... but, I was never comparing the three cars either .... I was just suggesting that for $41,000, the naturally aspirated SRT-8 offered nice performance & luxury & space, and that the only cars that seemed to be able to touch it, were $10,000, $20,000 & $30,000+ more expensive ....

I can tell you with a set of coilovers, and a $5,000 investment into a supercharger kit, (already available) the car would suddenly have 500 rwhp and 500 lbs of torque, and still be able to perform in the twisties ......

Obviously, you could do the same with the other cars ... but, I was just looking at overall dollars spent to get there ......mind you, I'm sure you'll need to add quite a bit more than $5k ............

If I felt like spending $90,000 on a car I might just buy an M5 ... but, I don't and honestly don't think it is worth the cash .... who knows, maybe when I just have hundreds of thousands just sitting around doing nothing ... I'll go snatch one up ....

That looked like an awesome car .....419 lbs of torque ... a 13.5 1/4 mile ..... really not bad for a factory car ...
