whew..so yea, this has been running through my head for the entire day, i couldn't even concentrate on my homework...k, so here's the story:

I didnt have school today, which is why I slept in, and which is why there's an "almost" in the title :roll:. This morning at like 9:30 or so (i live outside philly, so that's GMT -5 hours), i wake up to the sound of the door bell ringing, followed by some knocking. Being the only person in the house, I ignored it. More ringing and knocking followed, then some more. I was thinking to myself that it was probably FedEx or UPS or someone like that, so I decided to try to fall back asleep. Less than a minute after the ringing and knocking stopped, I hear a thump, which I ignored because I passed it off as the person's door closing. Then, something that shocked me so much I couldn't move. I heard thump, thump, crack, shatter.....shatter, thump..crack..etc etc. I bolted out of bed thinking "OMGWTFSHITEIPOHWEFHOIEGH(HGWEROUI" and I went over to my parent's bedroom where there's a terminal for our security system, and I hit # and * at the same time, activating panic (which sets off a LOUD alarm and calls the security dept and the police). Then I went over to my brother's room, which has a view of the driveway, so I could see who it was. This 6-foot + bulky black male was slowly walking over to his SUV (buick rendezvous...), unlocked it, got in and drove off. As he was walking to it, I ran to my room to get the digicam so I could take a pic of the plate, but he was gone before I could get it.

Turns out, all that happened was he broke two panes of glass, but didn't get into the house, so nothing was stolen. A lot could have been stolen tho, partially cause he was breaking into my living room where there's a sony flat-crt tv and a sound system, but also cause if I weren't here, it would have left the whole house to him. But nobody was hurt, and nothing was stolen. Still a scary situation though.

So the whole point of me posting this isn't just to be one post closer to being able to download vids (although it does do that

), but rather to let people know that even in upper-middle and upper-class neighborhoods, shit like this can happen, and you gotta be ready for it. Im also telling it because I just want to tell my story, it makes me a little more relaxed when I know someone else knows when something like this happens.

If someone rings my doorbell at 9:30am and I wake up, someones haed is going to get smashed with the mickey mantle

whether ur a robber or not

Some people are not as lucky as u tho, I remember a while back the town next to my an old guy was followed home while drivin by some robbers. they robbed his car and tried to get inside the house but the wife was home. this shit happened at an upper middle class towntoo

It was also at night. guess its time to get a piece 8)

i know my parents are so scared of this happening.....so they draw the blinds closed every night so ppl can see inside...just a suggestion

Pretty scary! Month ago my dad woke up with a guy in his sleeping room! A robber checking if the house was empty! He ran away not understanding my dad was completely shocked LOL, and robbed nothing.. but he is still pretty shocked right now..
Having somebody entering your house or trying to, is always a bad experience..

i know the feeling. when i was younger (about 3), at home with my mother, little cousin, who was a baby at the time, and my moms friend, we had a pretty scary incident.

we heard a knock at the door, my mom picked me up and we went downstairs to see who it was. its a nice neighboorhood, very quite, even still nothing really happens there, so my mom didnt think much of opening the door. when she did the guy pushed his way in and brought out a gun. he begun to scream threats until he heard movement upstairs and ran up there. we then saw another guy coming up the stairs with a tube sock, of all things, making movements with it as if to say im gonna strangle you. she turned, still holding me, and ran out the back.

we made it to a neighbor's house and told them what was going on. the husband and wife that lived there were in their 60s at the time, and the man was a ex-cop. he immediately grabbed a shotgun and went to our house while his wife called the cops. the two guys in the house had already left by the time the old man or the cops got there and they didnt do anything to my little cousin or my moms friend, but it was still scary.

this kind of shit sucks but it does happen. i dont ever answer the door, for this reason and also cause it might be someone tryin to sell something i dont want.

in Australia or at least in the country, nobody has a problem with leavng their doors unlocked becuase burglary is a rare thing.

man you have to watch out here in aussie, people are looking for a chance everyday. Just the other day some of mums plants where stolen...i was like who the fuk would steel pot plants, asked mum and realised there $70 each. Sorry to hear about your incident there dude, america sure is fucked up to say the least...and Australia is following slowly...considering we just had a drive by killing a woman and a man, a rare incident here.....

Hope that guy gets whats coming to him...cause he shall deserve it...

wow, those are some scary stories. From what I hear, where I live is a much safer place (Canadian Suburbs). We have much lower crime rates, the only robbers around here are usually bored teens, and they usually steal alcohol. My old house was broken into once, my current house had the garage robbed of a cooler and beer, and my aunts car had teh window smashed when she was on vacation (her car was at our house). They stole a biefcase, but they realized it was all paperwork and left it down the street. If you've ever seen the documentary "Bowling for Columbine" then you'd see how laid back Canadians are when it comes to locking up. In Toronto (probably one of the highest crime rates in Canada), most people still dont lock their doors. At least in the documentary it made the US seem much more dangerous. If you havent seen it, you should watch it. it was pretty good

when i moved into my current home like 10 yrs ago, the the area was very nice, with no stealing etc.. but a few yrs after,, my bike was stolen in my backyard

and during that period of time, coupel of cars were stolen from a few neibour of mine

the thing is, the safety of teh community has goten worst,, and 2 many freaking little punks on the street, actting all cocky and shit

shit like is the reason why people get cameras for their homes! u also have to watch out for who u open the front door to, check the person out before u do.
