Default My Black 2003 Hyundai Tiburon (11 pics)

This is my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. I bought it in the summer of 2002. It is a GT V6 with a 5 speed. I also have the optional sunroof. I have tried to keep most of my mods simple and clean. Here is a list of the things I have changed from stock or added.

Exterior:
This is a GT and came with low spoiler. I took the spoiler off and had the body shop fill in the holes and repaint the trunk lid. (makes the car look more up scale in my opinion)
2005 bumper
2005 headlights
red vinyl to cover up the amber turn signals and back up light to give an all red look
painted brake calipers red with a high tempature spray paint
6000k HID system for low beams
aftermarket led rear third light
Tinted windows

Engine:
took out a resonator that was part of the intake and a resonator that was part of the exhaust system (this gives a more aggressive sound on acceleration)
painted engine cover red

Interior:
MP3 cd player from Panasonic
Sony Xplod speakers all around
700 watt amp to power a 12 in Rockford Fosgate sub.
metallic siver center a/c vents. center dash , and window switchs
stainless steel pedals
stainless steel door sills
rubber "TT style" shift boot
aluminum shifter
super white 9 led map lights

Custom shot:

The Tiburon is not very popular in the U.S. either. That is one of the reasons I bought the car, I wanted to have a car that I would not see at every intersection. The performance of the car is not great with the 2.7 V6 making 170 hp and a 0-60 mph run of 7.1 sec. But I bought the car mostly for the exterior look. Since it isn't that common I frequently get approached and asked what kind of car it is. I think this is great considering I bought the car new for $17,000 (about 14,000 euros). And it also has a great warranty of 10 years/ 100,000 miles. I couldn't have asked for a better new car in this price range.

For that price its an amazing amount of car and an equally amazing warranty I have to say any non sheeple who put brand snobbery aside would have to seriously look at one especially how cheap you get them there. Black is definately the best colour for it IMO looks great

Actually i see quite a few around derby, not sure about the whole of the uk, but i guess i noticed them more as a friend was considering buying one. Ultimately he decided it was to expensive for him and is going back to uni anyway the last i heard. As you can probably guess we get ripped off here as usual, list price for your model would equate to about $33,000  though substancial discounts were available (£2000 roughly off the 2 litre i think)

i was really suprised when i got to drive a friends brand new v6 tiburon... the quality is amazing compared to what hyundai's used to be.. the 6 speed transmission felt just like my dads C240 with 6 speed..

$33K wow! Why are cars so much more? No wonder you guys have those tiny cars that would not even be legal here. Ex. Mercedes A-class. That car would never work here. Especially in Texas, about half the autos on the road are trucks or SUVs.
