Virus/spyware that blocks google sites?

Both of the PC's at my parents house cannot access any google related site..

I can ping google.com but I cannot ping mail.google.com (gmail)

The only way I can access google is through the IP, but still no way I can access GMail..

I've run a bunch of free anitivirus and spyware programs which ahve removed somethings but I still cannot get google to work properly..

Anyone experience this before?

check through the HOSTS file (in C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc) and make sure there are no entries with google's domains listed.

Nothing in HOSTS except for localhost..

if you have internet explorer .. then good luck to you mate

try this ..... tools >> then click on manage add-ons .. kill eerything that you dont need ...
clear the cache and the cookies ... that should do it

if it still dosnt work ... get Firefox or Opera
