Jabbasworld goes wireless
well im off to uni in a week so ive gone and got myself a laptop. Nothing amazingly fancy but frankly im still in sheer awe of being able to sit downstairs with no wires and steal my nieghbour's internet connection.
Ive gone for an Acer 5003WLMi with an AMD Turion 64bit processor, 512mb of RAM, an 80gb hardrive and everything else is pretty much boggo apart from a DVD-ROM, DVD-RW combo so i now have a way of watching DVD's ever since my PS2 vandalised itself.
Perhaps THE best thing however, is the fact that with my black XP skin and the toolbars removed from the top of the browser, JW in sublack form looks absolutely bloody amazing.
Its my first ever laptop so im currently on freedom overload!
And the obligitary custom shot of sorts!
Tom

Please be aware i dont actually want to be a politician, i just enjoy the subject and find the whole political mechanisms quite interesting. Having had a backstage tour around Westminister and parliament itself from a current member of the house of lords, i can certianl say, regardless of how much brown nosing is involved the rewards are bloody worth it.

lol good luck with the studies not really my field, although if life lasted forever i'd be interested in it...
i got a laptop for study stuff too, and i remember the awesome feeling too and trust me after a while you just cant do without it anymore lol... 1 thing i do wish for my next laptop, a 12-inch one... the current 17inch is a bit on the big side, and especially on the heavy side...

LOL, no doubt when im on campus or in my halls and a bit bored i will once again return to the warm, comforting bosom of JW.
On the wireless internet side, the guilt has got to me, i was midway through downloading a 1.5Gb file so thought it was a bit mean completely sapping the poor bloke over the roads internet connection

hahaaa, i dont think i could stand all the lieing and face-to-face bullshitting involved with the job!
@yg60m I was getting download speeds of just ove 100kb/s which i didnt think was too bad from a connection that had apparently little or no signal according to windows. On my wired brodband usually get about 250kb/s.
