HEEELP! IE died! (Fixed, nevermind!)
Ok, so here's the situation:
The lease on my house ended, so I had to move back in with my parents for about three weeks while I looked for somewhere to live and a job. I now have both. However, when I moved home, my computer sat without access to the internet for the entire time. I moved back, it's now plugged directly into the cable modem (yes, I know, not ideal, as if it went through a router there would be one more physical firewall for viruses and hackers to surmount). The net is accessible (obviously) but Internet Explorer absolutely, categorically, refuses to do anything but sit there and think, followed by it giving me a DNS error and refusing to access any page at all.
What the hell is going on?!?!?!?
The larger-scale ramifications of this are that I can no longer view windows media player streaming videos, as my only other browser at the moment is Firefox (wonderful in some ways, less so in others), AAAND...I can't view any pictures of any kind in MS Outlook or Outlook Express.
Any suggestions?

Well I fiddled around a bit and now I can see pictures and more in Outlook/Outlook Express, but IE continues to be a pain in the ass.

What I have to do is re-connect the modem through Internet Explorer. Beyond that, I have no idea.

Got IE working by carefully eliminating all traces of it and reinstalling once again.
Thanks for the advice guys!
