Default starting a website questions?

my friend wants to start a website for his cartoon stuff. he wants to have a membership where people will pay each month to view the videos. can someone help me out on what he needs and where should he buy the domain, hosting, computer or whatever stuff he needs and $$ he'll spend. I have no clue but told him I would help out.
thanks

Domain name - godaddy.com the best option IMO.
webspace - it depends how much he need for storage and transfer, many companies are quite good, but before buying something, look around for ppl's opinion. I'm actually hosting two websites with a swiss company wich is absolutely stunning, but no idea about their support in english
A domain will cost some 10 USD / year, webspace right now is around 100-120 USD a year for 1 GB of storage and 80 GB transfer monthly I think. but it varies a lot.

kool, thnx for the feedback.

Another question, whe he starts his own company, where would he get a copyright for the name, or does he have to do that? And does he need to get lawyers?

Also can he be the webmaster or does he have to pay another company to take care of that?

Indeed, the best part of FF is that of course you can work out the perfect hosting while big resellers just have "fixed" standard ones.

I was wondering how much do porn sites pay for hosting, since they have like 100thousand or alot more people downloading videos

I think I may have to start my own porn site
