Thanks for this post SDK, very usefull indeed!

For instance, I was not aware about the LCD preview in SLR cameras!!! Movies of course are rarely used but nice to have them.. and in the past I rarely used ISO 200 or 400 so the noise above 200 won't be a problem and probably the better result will be better than my C-3000 and BTW, I don't shoot pics for magazines usually (well ok, my girlfriend yes, sometimes needs high-res pics to publish in magazines, but not so often ) so I'm sure the quality would be fine

And as I told you via MSN, indeed, an SLR would be really to much.. because I'm sure I will start buying more and more lenses it's not really a money problem (well, maybe someway yes ), but I don't want to go around packed with lenses and stuff

I'm more a point-and-shoot person as you understood so I fear tomorrow I will have a new Pro 1 here with me LOL

Yeah - You take photos by looking through the view finder and you can only review the image once you have taken it.

Some info

An SLR camera has a mirror sitting behind the lens just in front of the sensor that reflects the image from the lens through a Pentaprism to the view finder, so, what you see in the viewfinder is what you get. (If light was also split to the LCD then the image in the viewfinder and LCD would be 50% bright on each display)

As you press the shutter release button the mirror flips up out of the way, at the same time the shutter mechanism opens to whatever you set the shutter speed to – 1/4000sec to 3mins+ on the 10D. Whilst the shutter is open the view finder 'blacks out' because the mirror is flipped up out the way so not light is entering the viewfinder. Once the photo is taken it’s displayed on the LCD.

Cant help you by suggesting names of cameras, I currently own a Minolta Dimage Xt and would love to own a Canon DSC-T1. As you can see, for me, size is a factor. If they are small, they surely are point and shoot cameras (dont like multi-functioned cameras either). I like small cameras and small cell phones. Especially if you just want em to take pics around town. I just use my Minolta 3.2 and use Jasc Paind Shop Pro 8 to fix up the images. With that combination, you cant go wrong (exept if the picture is really noisy, which only happens at night).

Anyway, try out this site.... http://www.steves-digicams.com/ its great for digital cameras reviews n stuff. They even have some preview images. That guy tests out the cameras and gives sample pics. So there, you can see the difference between a picture with one camera and picture with another.

yes, i was going to explain this.
the last photo you could easy take with a pro 1. the other you would have to in the water, or be some sort of superhuman that could stand right next to birds. With the 300D you can put a lens just like the one on the pro1. And have the same camera plus more and if sometime down the track you wanted to change the style of photography you could just change lens.

Basically the pro one is good for what you want now, but the 300D takes into account what you may want out of your future camera.

Yes, the main "pro" to the EOS is also the main "problem"... I don't want to deal with bigger and bigger lenses
