first thx for posting your stuff, especially since it´s your own Porsche, i´m sure you enjoy it
but nevertheless, PLEASE post in Multimedia...

It seems my bandwidth has been okay, so I will add the post here.

NOTE: This same link has been posted elsewhere too in the "What do you drive or ride" section.

A smallish video (10MB, sound is uncompressed to make it better!) that some people seem to find fun to watch.
The camera focuses on the dials in the cockpit as I take it up to 170kph.

"It" is a 1980 Porsche 911 SC.

The link:
http://e.co.za/Cars/Porsche_accel_170.avi

or:
http://e.co.za/Cars/mycar.html and right-click on "0-100 kph" in the stats.

If the downloads become too much, I will kill the link and post here.

Thanks st-anger for the scans. I really enjoyed reading them. I especially like a comment in "Blood Brothers" about driving pleasure that I think was insightful. When choosing between a GT3 RS and the 2.7 RS the writer said "Driving pleasure is all about playing on the edge of the handling envelope at real world speeds and in all driving conditions. For that you still can't beat the original."

I think that there is something to that. As modern sports cars continue to obtain the performance capabilities of previous years race cars the only place to really enjoy them anymore is a race track. I think that in part is the reason track events have become so popular as of late. To push a car on a public road anymore has become insane due to the increased performance potential of modern sports cars. What does everyone else think?

 SA Tuner GP 2004

...so ´ll post it here first, because it´s mainly Porsche stuff inside, so here´re some of my pics from the "Sport Auto Tuner GP 2004" this year won by Gemballa after last year´s TechArt victory...

...just for those who´re interested, pic #2 shows Horst von Saurma ( HvS ) chief editor of Sport Auto who does all the "Supertests". he´s one of the best=fastest drivers i know, definitely one of the fastest ´round the NS from all...
pic #3 shows Jochen Übler, the man right after HvS, also a very skilled driver who does all the sportscar testing, very cool guy indeed...

 also be sure to check those pics which are IMO the best one´s out of all:

#1 ...on the autobahn, braking from 200 for taking pics...."see you later..."

#21,22 & 23..... 8)

#25 ...had a very interesting conversation with the Gemballa engineer who updated the setup of the GTR, unfortunately everything we talked is TOP SECRET

#28 especially for daddy

#30 one of the best looking Porsches i´ve ever seen....

#38 .... what an amazing sound, kinda like the R-GT i´ve seen at Salzburgring ( hope i´ll be able to upload these pics some time too... )

#49 ....same "problem" here, a bit too hot for the plastic skirt...

#55...993 GT2 tuned by RS-Tuning, a VERY fast driver from UK, sorry i had to resize the (3MB) pic, but when you take a closer look you can see "some" smoke comming from the brakes, they were nearly on fire...

#66...all my favourite Porsches at one spot, it´s like heaven...

#76 my desktop background now

#99 & 100 ...all the participants

... will post some pics of the second event, the Drift Challenge, some time later...

hope you enjoy the pics...

EDIT:

pics from Drift Challenge added here:

Wait a second this is a 964. I thought you said earlier that you didn't like the look of the 964 model . It must be the bumpers then. I agree with you these bumpers look much better than the original 964's. Any idea why Porsche went with the bumpers they did on the 964 verses something like this?

Well, all I know that is they probably had a good reason...Porsche's engineering and design has always been far above par..and in my opinion second to none..
