It was an amazing day. A 917 has an awesome sound. Not at all like a normal 6cylinder boxer. The Ferrari was also very distinctive.
As far as I remember the 917s didn't have Flat-6s they were Flat-12s and then Turbo Flat-12s.
Yes. What I meant was that the flat 12 is a boxer engine, but doesn't have a similar sound to that distinctive beat of the normal Porsche Flat-6

Alright now i got you. As you say a normal flat-6 would be the road going cars as pretty much all flat-6 cars raced in the big shows were turbo and for sure would sound a lot different than the early flat-12's NA.
