yea i saw that top gear episode..very interesting. Although i like the Rx-8 very much, i don't think its really equivilent to the M3. i think the M3 is slightly faster.
in terms of price. the RX takes the prize
in terms of looks. I think they're both pretty finely attired
tough call. i think they're both great.

m3 is defintl alot faster
even aroudn the track
the m3 tested on top gear was driven by old stig
and rx8 driven by the new stig

The RX-8 is better: cheaper, with good power, excellent looks and great handling. Excellent car. One of my favourites... 8)

I love the way the RX-8 looks and the way its so perfectly Japanese, but just for cold blooded German power and clinical efficiency, it has to be the m3, and so it should to justify the price difference. Maybe the more suitable (and obvious) comparison is to the R32 (for the Rx-8)

they are totally differant class..
an m3 can buy 3-4 rx8's.
238bhp rx8 vs 333bhp m3.
rx8 is a good bang for its buck, but a nsx would be a better comparism with the m3.

i disagree. the rx8 is more radical, and will therefor turn more heads. if im walking in town, im drawn to two things(carwise), looks and sound. If an M3 catches my eye, it does only that. Id assume its just another BMW. An rx8 on the other hand, I dont like the styling as much as the e46, but its more radical, and ive been known to turn my head toward that.
and why would a better comparison be between an M3 and the nsx? it costs over twice as much. Its the same thing, only price-wise the M3 is the bitch. they may be more similarly matched performance wise, but consider comparing a Saleen S7 to a ford GT. perhaps similar performance, but the price difference is outrageous.

But I think that the M3 deserves every coin!!! 8)

M3 doesn't cosr as much as 3-4 RX-8.....
rx-8 35.000 euro
M3 56.000 euro....
i don't trust the guy who tested the bmw m3 or the rx8 at top gear...
for me there is no comparison..if i had the 20.000 euro more i would buy without a second thought M3...it is just great...
by the way this wankel engine doesn't last for more...
oh i forgot it consums as minimus 23 lt/km

I like the M3 alot more. One more thing: I sat in the driver's seat of a RX 8 at the Canadian Auto show, and it's not at all a roomy car! I am 6' tall, and the interior was kinda too small for me. I can't say the same for the M3. I would go for the M3 if I had the $$$. It's just such a nice car....and the sound is killer!
