TopGear CarreraGt vs. SLR
I saw both the presentations, and Clarkson and the time on lap time say that Carrera is better. What do you think? In my opinion, for a good driver, the Carrera is what you want, but for one who is not so used driving a super car,the SLR feets perfectly.
I wonder what would happen if they would make a SLR without conditioning air,and all that plastic which is making this car so heavy, compared to the Carrera.

As they said, the SLR is in its own category, a sort of superpower GT. The CGT is more a pure sportscar even if useable on the road (st-anger confirmed that).

Although the CGT is faster, etc., etc., Clarkson prefers the SLR.

well, it's pretty obvious what my answer is going to be, even if the CGT is faster around a track....

I'd rather have the CGT as I all reports have suggested it's far more involving than the SLR. There is also the matter of noise, the V8 is awesome but I prefer the V10.

eh, just the sound more, the doors, and it would suit my lifestyle better cause I don't really need a race car to drive around the city.

cgt has the best sound i ve ever heard. i think u can not insist on the idea that, slr has a better sound. cgt has the best. even better than ferraries. because of the sounding.

for me sounds C Gt like F1, i dont like those high noises,
best sounds V8 or V12 from Aston Vanquish,
but best of the best is Aston Vantage, old version from 70-80 years,

HAHAHAH when I saw that comparo for the first time, and he goes "given the choice between a 355 and an f50, id take the 355l, everytime." I was thinking, man this guys on crack
Clarkson is good at dogging on a car when it deserves it and praising a car when it does suck, but he LOVES the f40 (his favorite super car in fact) but hates the f50...... I know this thread is about CGT vs M/M , but the f50 was the car that got in interesting in cars! It will always be my favorite.... no matter how much I love the McLaren f1 8)
