Former BMW boss now new Alfa Romeo boss!
the Germans are invading!
http://www.italiaspeed.com/2004/cars...fell/1910.html
let's hope he doesn't hire Bangle to Alfa Romeo, that would just send me on a personal mission to kill him
hopefully he can help improve quality issues that Alfa is well known for

Orazio Satta Puliga, one of the most important figures in Italian motorcar history to say:
"Alfa is a unique way of living and feeling a car. There is no definition that explains what Alfa really is. You can compare it with those irrational emotions, that sometimes have a human spirit, for which it is impossible to find a logical explanation. We are in the domain of feelings, passion of things that are closer to a man's heart than his brain."

Actually, as long as the only thing he does is about reliability issue, it's fine. The best cars in the world would be Alfas with BMW reliability.

This for sure does not sound good, hopefully he does change the use of inferior GM engines in alfas and go back to the original alfa designed engines with that awesome raspy sound note.
How would you define reliability dude, cause all cars have there little issues, but i found all the alfa's to be awesome reliability, and quality to be sweet too 8)

8C Competizione! with the bmw boss on board, this should be his first project. I think this car is sexy as all hell, and would be a runaway success for Alpha!

Lets hope he doesn’t have say when comes to styling. God help us.
I personally don't think that Alfa having a German boss of will make that much difference. It all boils down to how much money you have and fiat/alfa don't have a lot. They're kind of in a catch 22 situation in that common perception is that Alfas (and italian cars in general) are unreliable and if they make cars costing the same as BMWs and Audis people won't buy them.
"Alfas are unreliable”. This is bullshit and usually comes for people who have never owned one. I remember reading an article written by Tiff Needle about the 166 when it first came out. He slated it saying the clutch was the worst he had ever come across becuase it glazed after 10 minutes. This pissed me off no end because the clutches in Alfas are made by valeo who don't just make clutches for Alfa they make them for loads of other car manufactures and this is common with a lot of components. The clutch on the 166 that tiff needle drove was probably ruined due to the fact that it had been previously driven by hundreds of wanky journalists who haven't a clue what the fuck there doing!!
Am I the only person who thinks that Tiff Needle is paid by BMW to say how good their cars are? All the reviews I have seen of him testing BMWs I don’t think I have ever heard him make one negative comment !!!
One bit of public perception that is correct is that the alfa/fiat dealerships are the biggest punch of monkeys you have ever seen in your life. Well, the ones I have come across anyway. However I did find one local to me that was superb and then few mouths later fiat stripped their dealership rights because their showroom wasn’t good enough. They’re still trading as a garage but not as an authorised fiat dealer. This is a shame because they were probably the best fiat dealer is the UK in terms of aftercare service.
