I had broken the rear spoiler when putting the car together but now it's fixed.

I took the car outside for a few more pics.

I just recieved my Elite Ferrari F40 and I'm very pleased with it. While it's still not quite as good as a Kyosho, it is much better than anything HW has done in the past.

The Ferrari F40 has always been one of my favorite supercars of all times and I've been longing for a decent model of it, in 1/18 scale, for a long time. I've had both Burago and Hotwheels versions of it but I never really like them, too toylike.

Now, that Mattel is introducing this new Elite line with a much better quality F40. This one has definately filled that void in my collection.

Over all, this is a very good model. But it lacks in some of the finer details that a Kyosho Ferrari might have. Like popup headlights, engine detail, and better windshield and side windows.

Mattel is definately moving in the right direction with their Elite series but $70+ might be a little to pricey for it. $50 would be much more reasonable.

Look around, there are deals out there. I got mine for $38 on Ebay, add in the shipping and I paid a total around $50 for it.

As you maybe know McLaren F1 and F40 are my dream cars so also F40 is must have for me, I have it from Kyosho in 1/12 and 1/18 from Bburago. Yes, Elite is better than normal HW version but still I donīt like some details on it. For example steering wheel is too low...I just hope that one day it would be in 1/18 from Kyosho, Exoto or other manufacturer  At the moment I am happy with Bburago and Kyosho version 8) BUT it is also possible that one day I buy this Elite too

I just bought a few for my wife, she likes the matchbox size cars. I even bought her a display cabinet for them.

The quality is amazing for this size model, much better than the 99 cent hotwheels I've bought for her.
