Well, maybe, but censorship of the media is never a good thing. However, in the same vein, the media network is free to show/distribute what it wants, and we are free to watch it or not.
censorship in the media is a good thing when it comes from within, in general... as at the end of the day, they are shooting for a larger marketshare, and the stations will change if the people don't watch them so they ultimately are responsible to "us"

but there are many reasons why i choose not to watch TV, or TV media outlets.

Agreed. The Media is a business and as a part of that they decide what will get the most viewers, and balance that against backlash (OJ). My personal feelings on this video are that there is nothing wrong with it within itself, but that it also doesn't really have a clearly defined point behind it, or at least one that 100% requires the film to be shot in the way that it is. It's sensationalistic, and while there is nothing wrong with that, it also needs to be tempred by having good journalism, and my gut instinct is that this film doesn't have that.

Does it have to have a point? This is just entertainment. I doubt anyone is really going to take it seriously. I also doubt anyone is going to suddenly be more interested in killing Bush after this.

Exactly - it was this pathetic movie makers way to try "blackmail" Bush - what the movie maker is too stupid to figure out is that in 18 months there will be a new sitting head of state.. yet the same "hatred" will suddenly appear.

Yeah, he's something much much more to those who believe in him.

I don't understand why there is a problem.

Not banned - just chosen not to be shown/distributed.

The only reason you would want to see the show is to see Bush die.

The story could have been just as effective without the visuals.

This movie is a very poor attempt at public opinion manipulation.

There is a reason you don't show sitting heads of states in "dead" poses. This movie crosses the line.
You really should of viewed the movie before posting.

You never see Bush get shot, you never see a dead body.

You do hear shots and the limo drive away, something we have all seen happen for real when Reagan was shot.

You do see a picture of the president hanging on a casket, 2 + 2?

I did not want to muck up the "Movie" section with political BS, thank you all for letting the thread stay - I did think about it.

Also I did not know about the edit thing in the political section. I 'm not the greatest speller, will have to watch out for this feature in the future.

For the record, I don't think anyone wants to see or have a president Cheney.

Kind of off the topic, a few nights ago on Jon Stewards "The Daily Show" John Edwards was asked that if he had become VP under the Kerry ticket who he would of peppered with bird shot. He answered back: Dick Cheney.

I dont need to watch the movie before posting. Just because its your kind of movie and we all know you are a Bush hater (you make no secret of that.
) doesn't mean everyone wants to see it.

You do see him get shot - the first time they promoted the movie they were showing clips of the bullethole in his chest at the limo door.

There is no point to a "docudrama set in the future" tryign to deliver someones present message.

We all know that if someone made a movie about assasinating some foreign leader and used it to promote such activities you libelals would ave a field day attacking such endevours.

Just because I don't like finding dog dodo on my lawn does not mean I don't like dogs. If Bush would not kill so many people by executive order (tens of thousands) then maybe I could deal with the rest of his dry drunk madness.

You need to watch the movie more than anyone does if you think you don't.

To comment about the movie without viewing the movie shows me your ugly side. And it's pretty ugly from where I sit.

I don't know which preview or trailer you are talking about. In the movie it shows the view from the 20th floor (at night) just for a second or two and the Secret Service guy talking/narrating at the time is in the view. You have a distorted and false impression of the movie; the only solution is to view it for yourself. Much of the movie is done in a style that is not exactly entertainment by Hollywood standards, but it has value as social commentary, which should not be dismissed out of hand.

About your other comments about me RC45, hatred will consume you if you let it. I suggest you let it go. I have not attacked you the way you have me. I strive to stay on the issues not the personalities. I offer only the truth for you to see; all I ask is that you open your eyes.

We now have political BS flowing over into the movie section; this is a mistake in my opinion. I don't know why this thread was moved into the movie section. There were more comments about what section the thread should be in than about the film it's self. I take this as a measure to avoid the issues brought up in the film. A measure I find a little bewildering and disappointing (although I can now edit spelling and typing mistakes). You can do better, and you should expect yourself to do better.

Don't attack the messenger.8)
