Default Dodge Ram SRT-10 Quad Cab Sabre - Yellow Fever

Does anyone know the specs with the 4-speed auto and extra weight?
0-60?
0-100?

love the black hood scoop

Is that a custom job? Or are they making them now?

I never really understood the point of trucks like this.

Be it the Ram SRT-10, The Lightning, The Silverado SS, whatever....whats the point? IF you want something with performance just buy a sports car or something that you will pay a little less for, but still have the same performance as one othese heavy trucks. You can't really take them off road and they're not designed for serious hauling as a pickup was originally intended.

The guy up the street from me has a Ram SRT-10 and I just laugh every time I see it. Sitting right next to it is his SUV that he has to use everytime it snows cuz the Ram won't do that well in snow with it's RWD and sports tires. Seems like a waste of money to me.

In Norway this is brilliant, because with our ridiculous prices and taxes, performance like this is waaaaay beond most peoples reach. But, the SRT-10 have to be registrered in Norway as a "small lorry" class C1. You need a upgraded licence, but don't pay all the "car taxes" and you get away with about $70-85.000,-
That's not cheap, but for a car with those figures, you need to at least double it over here.

Only problem is fuel milage.......... good thing you have a 30gallon tank... a $260 full tank. (norwegian price)

i disagree, these trucks are still pretty useful (at least the lightning and the silverado SS are not sure about the ram SRT-10). they can still make that run to home depot or move a couple pieces of furnature around when needed, which is what most people use their trucks for. not everyone uses them like you see in the commercials. i know that the lightning has a tow rating of about 5000 lbs and a payload capacity of 1400 lbs. the silverado SS has a 7500 tow rating and a 1200 payload, and an AWD option. im sure that is plenty for what the average american needs/uses.

as for off roading i cant really defend them there, i am pretty sure they are useless.

so the point of these trucks is to be able to do these everyday jobs but at the same time be able to have some fun in between 8) also some people enjoy the high up view of the road that trucks provide. sure a car is a cheaper more practical alternative but since when have sports cars really been about practicallity.
