Default 997 GT3 vs. 997 Turbo... pros and cons..

wich one would you rather have?

i dream of the punch in the turbo, but the looks of the gt3 are to die for

the rear valence on the turbo is great, but overall the gt3 looks fantastic... i think the alcantara on the gt3 might be a problem after using the car so much... by the looks i think it might get crappy...

your thoughts?

wow...im really tempted to choose for the GT3, but i think i'll go for the all-round turbo...more usable in all kinds of weather, a bit higher off the ground means less run-ins with the numerous speed bumps in holland...its just more practical...

I like more the looks of the GT3, and itīs a more focused car for good drivers, but in my condition, in the city, the more usable for everyday Turbo would be my choice.

me too, ofcourse, but i dont think it has the ground clearance to get over any of the roughly 20+ speed bumps that lie between my house and the nearest asphalt road...which would limit me to roughly 15 meters of driving very close around my house

GT3

I always wondered and thought the GT3 might be too hardcore, but a chap that owns a C5Z and a GT3 let us all know over at Z06Vette.com it is not as radical as people would have you believe...

Then again, he has the best of both worlds, so he could use the C5 Z as a true daily driver, and the GT3 as his track tool - and for the really warm spring/summer days when he feels like Schumi, the GT3.

This is what I think I will eventually do - as used GT3's cost around $80 to $90,000 in these parts.

GT2.. Best of both world.s

But that's not the case here so I would love a GT3.. as corvette97 said the looks of the GT3 is to die for...and I like RWD too so that's another plus for me. makes it much more fun to drive.

i'd like a GT3... but i think i'd also love to drive a porsche all the time...

today, i'll say Turbo... but it has to have that "S" only since i live in such a diverse 4 season climate.... if i were in a southern reigon, then definately the GT3

Definitely, unless this is a new type of Alcantara, they usually don't wear well. The 330i and M3 Competition Packages both have Alcantara steering wheels and both are often replaced under warranty. Usually the replacement wheel is the regular leather one. Nevertheless that material feels great when new.

After that's been said. . . GT3 without a doubt! .

i think i would go with the Turbo just because it would be the better choice up in Washington where it snows and rains a lot. but if i lived somewhere warmer with another car i would take teh GT3 in a heartbeat

Well personally i'd hold out for the RS if i were to go for the GT3 but since it isn't going to be released until late 06 im going to have to pick the turbo besides aint exactly ugly.
