Wait, are you inferring that film camera is superior to Digital / Digital SLR?
I'm asking this as a noobish camera enthusiast

The picture was taken with ASA 50 speed Velvia slide film. Probably shot with a F2.8/180mm telephoto. I was panning so it is a little soft. (nice word for blurred) The color intensity is from the Velvia and it is shot at sunset which always does fun things with color.

Digital is the greatest thing that has ever happened to photography. If you want to start photography today, you shoot digital.

That doesn't mean film still doesn't have its fans. I'm one, but I still appreciate and shoot digital.

Here are some photographs I was given by the lady in red in the second photo. They were taken with slide film.

The first is a 1951 MG TD and the second is a 1952 Jaguar XK120. Both of the photos were taken when the cars were brand new. Your not looking at restored cars.

These images are 57 years old. The color in the slides is like new, they have not changed in that long.

I am concerned my digital photos will not last that long. Accidents, crashes, damaged disks, etc. etc. can easily distroy them.

This is a valid concern. I have lost about 500 digital snapshots from CD's that have "expired". The organic dyes break down over a 9 year time frame and the disks became unreadable.

I hope these DVD's I wrote to last longer.
