Although, in the grand scheme of things, he has youth, inexperience and testosterone as a valid defence.
Ho wmany uber-wealthy "pilars of the community" haven't killed people in drunk driving accidents and got away scot-free because of political contacts and wealth - and they hav no excuses really.
He is getting the proverbial book thrown at him becasue of his celebrity - seesm like the media, public and judicial system take great glee in building up and then trashing "celebs" - but have no issue with continually supporting corrupt politicians, business and civic leaders.
Still, a sad situation all round - and he had to face some kind o fmusic for the deed.

I don't know how he ever became an actual competitor (even if it was just for one or two events). Poor Hubinette's Viper.
I'm probably being a bit too harsh, but I don't feel very sorry for him. I feel really bad for other guy and his family though.
The guy's been ticketed for speeding at least 4 times before the Supra crash.
115 mph in a 70 mph zone
57 mph in a 30 mph zone
106 mph in a 70 mph
82 mph in a 45 mph construction zone
Yet no one took his license or his keys away. Fools.

That's one of the keys to the issue - the "adults" in the system, allowed it to escelate to this level before they did anything remotely serious to address the recklessness.

The main thrust of this sentence is not the 8 months in prison, but the 5 years probation. He can't fuck up for the next five years, or he'll be back in the prison for sure.

I somehow doubt it. The court videos we're pretty dramatic though, wow.

Well he'll have to learn his lesson if he's going to survive his five years probation without getting sent back to prison.

I've been driving cars for 8 years (ya ya, not "that" long") ... and I've managed to never have a speeding ticket even... have I learned my lesson?
