Oh, and mirror-dirt can never be seen on a photo. Lens-dirt is also less likely or at least very obvious. My guess is dirt on the sensor, no big deal and inevitable with a dSLR. If you want to scare yourself: set the camera to f/32, take an out-of-focus pic of the sky and do an auto-levels in Photoshop on the picture.
