Well I think the article is mostly sad reading. Brits need to get over ww2 and grow up. Seriously, it's pretty sad that in the year 2004 - over half a century after the peace, you still can't comment on german stuff without immediately bringing forth some distant event several generations ago.
Visiting Britain I sometimes get the distinct feeling that the only thing Britain ever achieved that's worth remebering was helping the allies beat Germany. Seriously, take a look at what Discovery broadcasts at prime time saturday evening.
