I know ... but it was the only engine I hadn't tried in the Brera/Spider line up.
When they propose me a weekend with one of these I won't turn down, it is a great looking car.

Nice looking roadster, but are these new diesle Euro "sports" cars at least rear wheel drive and manual transmisison?

This is far more important than whether they are diesel powered

Unfortanetly Alfa doesn't make any rear wheel drive cars anymore, only fwd and some 4wd versions. The 8C is offcourse rwd, but that's a Maserati in an Alfa dress
Almost nobody drives automatics in the EU, don't know how it comes that automatics are so popular in the US but nobody drives them in the EU. An automatic gearbox is a very costly option over here, on some cars it's a couple of thousand euro's. That's probably one of the reasons.

Automatics are so boring, as are automated manuals, I'll blip the throttle myself thanks.

It is almost certain that the Alfa 169 (166 successor) will get RWD. Rumours say it will be based on a Cadillac Sigma platform currently used by the CTS. By 2010-2011 all new Alfa’s should have RWD except the Junior and 147.
