1986 BMW E28 535i
Some of you may remember the beastly, unpleasant van I was driving.
Well, in a chance of fate (or whatever) one of my friends is moving to texas and bought the van for 300 dollars and a 1986 BMW 535i…
Nothing special, its an automatic, power everything, broken heater, leather, no passenger side door handle,,,,hahaha but it’s a huge improvement…
Le custom shot:
The NOTADSM plate lives on!
i'll get some interior and engine shots up later, thats all i have on the camera at the moment....work takes up a lot of my day lately...

love it!
The older 5 and 3 series models are some of my favourite cars.
And because its a 535i, its not goingto be too big a slouch, is it?
Shame about the rusting doors etc... but i like it anyway :good:

Sweet ride! You should definitely keep that forever and restore it.
One of my friend from highschool has a 528i with nice leather seats but its an automatic..
still fun to whip around though and the looks are just classic.

Do something about the rust. Once it begins, it'll eat it's way through very quick, and then you'll start having drafts, quirky noises and possible a very fragile door (if someone crashes into you...).

it is e28, just like mine. 218hp while stock and no cat. there is great diff and the car is real pleasure to drive, Top Gear considers it top5 of all time bmws, including all years of m5s, m635i, m3s and m1.

thanks for that top gear info, inso!
as for the doors, i have two rust free, color matched doors and a new moonroof that came with the car (along with summer rims and tires) that are waiting in the garage for the weather to warm up a bit. the glass needs to be transferred from the doors, im sure that will be....fun....
the car has quite a history among us car enthusiasts in the kzoo area, i know the last three owners and the doors were part of a bet to see who could locate a set of rust free doors and paint them to match for the cheapest lol.
more pictures to come later, guys. for now; bedtime.

My favourite ever BMW, pretty sure the american ones don't make the 218BHP because of the CAT. Better to go for 4 valves per cylinder and 286BHP of the M5.
The M5 e28 and e34 were both hand made, unlie e39 and current e60.
A very sexual shape indeed, when BMW was deservedly earning the reputation it loves being able to trade on these days.
Gorgeous
