Default Face-lift for Porsche 997 in 2009 [poll added]

I think the rear lights look absolutely amazing! They just look so much better than they do now, and they're cool now as they are already!

Yeah, I am not sure about making the lamps bigger though. They said it would be similar to the Cayenne's and I don't really like the Cayenne that much.

RC, when is the 998 schedule?

hmmm when i see these thin rear lights i start dreaming of full-width lamps/reflectors as on the 993 and earlier cars... that'd make me wet my pants
The hearlights look a bit different i believe, with multiple lamps inside them, but the new fog lamp arrangement really looks like a boxter's imo

Are you sure? It is seldom that Porsche "faclift" an existing model range - they reserve the visual changes for the new models

Yep, I guess other than body panels, lights, rear fenders, bumpers, wings and dimensions, they are pretty much the same

The same could be said for the 993 and even between the Audi TT and a wheel barrow of elephant poop... but that doesn't mean they aren't different

But I guess you could argue the subtle mid-life 996 visual changes suggested the look of the coming 997... which would mean the mid-life changes of the 997 may harken the 998

That car just gets more feminine looking with age. It's a good thing it has that whole performance thing going for it.

Yea, I think im going to wait to see it in real life. In the pic it makes the car look droopy in the back or something

There was more than just a visual upgrade from the 2001 to 2002 996 facelift.
