It sounds like he made his fist mistake by not taking it directly to a BMW dealership. Having bought it at an auto show it could be an '01 or '02, if thats the case than software errors are most likely his problem. Every few months new software is released by BMW-AG and the cars must be reprogrammed. The reason for these initial errors is because the stockholders wanted the E65/66 released before it was ready. Therefore there was not enough time to sufficiently R&D the cars. they were forced to field test the cars, so problems that would normally be caught at the factory, were now being experienced by the customers. But now the 7's are just about flawless.

I am wondering if BMW-China is not runnning things as well as what they should.
