Ahhh... Gonna buy v10 M5 myself.. after 4-5 years... hopefully I will get my hands on some M5 from 1999-2000 within a year or two.. but this new car is amazing.

Hard to understand how the Maserati can score equally high as the Merc. The Merc is better in just about everything.

how do you know? Driven them both?
M5 for me anyday, as the writer says they're all just about equal on the motorway, maybe the maser loosing out in ride quality but the M5 is the only one you really would want to be in to take a detour off onto the b roads

Yeah, the new M5 iz amazing, but just doesn't have the character and presence of the Maserati...
Personally, I'd take the Quattroporte...

Although E55 AMG being a good car, almoust everybody would prefer the M5.

as far as i remanber, AutoCar never gave 5 stars to any car. even the McLaren F1 "only" got 4.5 stars.
so i guess in a way M5, as a sport sedan, is as good as a McLaren F1, as a supercar. 8)
