Picture quality and panning are top notch of course, but I am a bit puzzled about the framing on some of them. When just a little bit of front or rear wing is out of the frame, was it done on purpose? Is this the original framing? Just curious as in none of them we can see the full car ...

^^ It looks to me that he was trying to get the helmet area sharp and in clear focus. The rest of the car is just a bonus. There are a lot of shots in F1 Racing mag similar to this. It is not important for the whole car to be there like it would for a static shoot.

Also keep in mind that these are F1 cars zooming by at great speeds - so if you are zooming in real close to catch the helmet details, you will need really fast hand movements to keep in pace with the car. It is easy to miss the ends of the car.

I am guessing he was panning with a heavy F2.8 lens - not an easy job.
