Default B-Spec testing

After reading various comments about our damn minime, I decided to set up this little test... and I am asking you to contribute:

please, go to the Alfa delaership and buy a bran new Alfa Romeo GT. Change its oil, and bone stock, take it to the "world circuits" section, go to the nurburgring nordschliefe and enter the free driving option. Then just launch your minimi on track without touching the settings (not that you could change much.. just the aids, wich we can leave as standard I guess).
Let him drive 5 laps and let us know his fastest lap (and set him on lvl 5: push)

I can't do it myself beeing in the mid of the F1 championship (wich is damn long), but we have two entries at least.

We want to see how B-spec points modify the laptime.. no need to cheat here dudes thanks..

So, we have (setting "5") only

TT - 4200 skill points - 8:39.097
Pimp Racer - between 5000 and 6000 - 8:40.169
gis - 0 B-Spec points - 8:40.213
dingo - 600 points - 8:40.889
RC45 - 3343 points - 8:41.119
Dan\/6 - around 2800 B-Spec points - 8:42.941
tuffguy - 8355 points - 8'54.485

As you can see, it is damn weird already

I have around 3800 points, can't wait to check it out myself

Woohoo! GT4 gets its own section!

Edit: My minime managed 'round the ring as follows:

Best lap 8'43".210 (5 laps, on setting 5 'push' - I didn't mess with the driving aids)

I didn't check my B-Spec points 'til afterwards, however the stats are:

2841 B Spec points, Race 37, Course 30, Battle 25

I went round myself after but its the first time I have done a whole lap of the ring, and of course, the first time I drove the Alfa: 9'04" not that I am boasting about my time...

BTW, Dan did a 8:25 lap driving himself the same car..

yep as TT said right after I let 'minime' do his 5 lap run I also had a quick go..
1 flying lap and it was 8:25:958, not great but again, my first ever lap with that car so not the fastest possible by a long shot, and the only changes I made to car setup were to put both ACS settngs to 0 and TCS to 1

quick screenie switched to rear view to verify the car

umm which track within the World Circuits are we suppose to race at?

EDIT: stupid me, judging by the lap time and Dans screenshot it must be the 'Ring ops:

Ok my little shit has done his 5 laps and the best time was 8:40.889.....and that was with about 600 B-Spec points so it seems the less you have the faster he is

Mini-Me had 3343, 43, 31 and 32 points and ran

8:48.xxx on setting 3 (steady)
8:40.368 on setting 4 (fast)
8:41.119 on setting 5 (push)

I left the car as purchased - just with added oil. Even left the TCS and ACS settings stock.

Afetr the little run session mini-me went from 3343 to 3947 and 43 to 55 and 31 to 40 and battle skill stayed at 32.

Go figure.

Oh yeah - my best after throwing the wallowing Alfa-sofa-bed around the 'Ring was a pitiful 8:51...

The more I look the more I think that the B-Spec skill is a racing line programmed inot the game on a per car/per track basis.

The PD guys only refined certain car/track combos and didn't finish the rest.

How else does one explain that while my B-Spec guy can just about drive a Chaperal for one lap without crashing on any track on setting 3 or 4 --- yet he can pilot an F1, an M3, an SLR and an EVO modified to the max to super-track records on every track he goes on without so much as an error when on setting 5.

You can see how the AI takes the same line (even if it is wrong) and repeats the same errors and successes over and over on the same tracks.
