He mentioned that the cost of repairing that was equivalent to buying a new Ferrari

Indeed. To remain in stars destroyed cars, I've heard about Elton John crashing his Jag XJ 220 some years ago too

But this not to say he is a bad driver. I think he races in some of the semi-professional series and is a very good driver.
I remember even the ex-CEO of BMW totalling an F1 on the Autobahn. 550bhp/ton with no traction enhancement devices is no joke particularly in the wet.

Reminds me of Martin's face when the tail of the F1 is stepping out in the DVD

Not sure about the Elton story... his car was for sale a while ago in the UK with only 800miles on the clock
Bean did this about 25miles from me in a place called Horwich abt 25 miles from manchester where i live

From what I understand he did this on the first day that he owned the car. Does anybody know if this is correct?

They used to call the metro a Mini metro over here... don't know why
Atkinson was a contributor in evo magazine a while back - the CGT vs. F1 article was memorable (also ran an MG SV-R and wrote about the Bentley Blower). He also drives classic AMs and Jags ... he was in the Goodwood Historic that Jabba posted a while back

Because the geniuses at Rover or whatever they called themselves back then believed it was going to replace the mini. Sadly they overlooked minor details like its general shiteness, lack of character and tendency to rust just as much as mini's.

Never knew that.... can use that to get "man points" with the lads... none of the buggers will beat that for specialist car knowledge
