Well my wedding present from my wife was a porsche gt3 for 24 hours to drive.
It was an unbelievable experience and since then i am infected by the porsche virus. Sound, handling, man and the mighty brakes!!! and of course the acceleration - i'll never forget that.
On the german autobahn i did 280 km/h in the night on wet surface.
- I have to say it was a little bit too fast for that conditions, no xenon-lights, so the visibility wasn't the best. But i did it. (together with my wife (she enjoyed and my sister in law - she enjoyed it too))
One day I'll buy a Porsche GT3 - but right now i am saving money for a porsche 964 c2 with 250 hp or a 964 turbo with 320 or 360 hp.
My personal - Top-Speeds were
280 km/h - Porsche GT3 - very stable on the road up to 280 km/h
270 km/h - passenger in a chevy-nascar - charlotte/north carolina - oval circuit - very stable - i still remember the g-forces in the corners
245 km/h - Alfa 164 3.0 - showing italian performance to a following mercedes driver - stable on the road up to 225 km/h
240 km/h on a BMW Z3 3.0 - 231 hp - roof closed - would run faster - over 200 km/h not very stable on the road - and no quick acceleration anymore :lying:
200 km/h on my tuned mazda 323 turbo with 200 hp built 1986! - very stable up to 200 km/h (car would run faster) - strong bmw-diesels and also z3's only saw my exhaust pipe - uphill, also crx-drivers were very impressed by the acceleration 0-100 km/h in 7,3 sec. (hand-stopped) 8)
190 km/h on my citroen xm 2,5 TD - (would go faster) - very stable up to 190 km/h
169 km/h on my first car - a golf I - 50 hp - decending on a mountain highway in switzerland - (not stable any more at 169
)
165 km/h on my second car a toyota starlet 1.1 - on a straight with backwind - showing japanese power to a mercedes 190 diesel who probably couldn't believe that he couldn't escape. - stable up to 160 km/h
