Sharp- Japanese consumer electronics company named from its first product, an ever-sharp pencil
Some of those facts are very interesting, I would have though that in most cases the name was also the surname of the founder, it seems things are much more complicated.

Some are quite interesting. Others are just somewhat boring.

Goldstar made floppy disks and televisions, and that's all I know. They merged in the early 90s, or so my father recalls.

I thought hsbc was an English bank.
LG- combination of two popular Korean brands Lucky and Goldstar. (In Mexicopublicists explained the name change to the public as an abbreviation to LĂnea Goldstar Spanish for Goldstar Line)
I thought L was Leadtek
I want to add something dosen't exist in list.Puma's founder Rudolf Dasler is brother of Adidas'es founder Adolf Dasler.

HSBC was probably founded by the English. I'm not sure.

Puma's founder Rudolf Dasler is brother of Adidas'es founder Adolf Dasler.
hehe...sibling rivalry to the max.
