Default Just bought a digital camera!

...And here it is:

It's a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ5.

Click here for the specs, and here for a review.

Only have it for a few hours, and so far I love it. Definitely recommend it if you're in the market for a low end SLR. Now I just need to get myself a larger capacity memory card, a tripod and maybe a polarizer filter and I'm set.

Here are some pics (only have to camera for a few hours now, so the quality isn't perfect, since I haven't messed around with the settings too much):

Testing the flash:

12x Zoom:

30x Zoom:

48x Zoom:

Random shots:

Seems kinda good!

Interesting the 48x zoom, but never use it, the quality will suck stay in the optical part and never use the digital zoom

lol, thanks. I actually didn't have enough money for it, but got it trough my cousin's company (where I've been working this month), so I had a €90 discount.

Yeah, I only use the optical zoom (those shots were just to test the digital zoom), but to be honest, I was expecting the quality loss to be worse than it is.

Thanks, I sure will.

Thanks, and yeah, it's called neck. But the photo didn't come up very good, me thinks. I wasn't holding the camera steadly enough, and the lighting didn't help either... :bah:

Thanks, but I'm afraid I won't be able to contribute much for the WYST section. Virtualy no nice cars around here... Though there's a nice black/tan 355 about 400 meters away from my house. Time for a little walk.

By the way, here are two more pics I took 15 minutes ago:

One thing: once you start getting serious (and it seem you are ), you'll never be "set". You'll keep wanting that better lens, better tripod, etc.

Hehe, so true. I can't get into photography stores anymore. Always end up wanting to buy something... ops:

...Which was what I did yesterday. Bought a tripod and 512 MB Memory Card:

And after messing around with the settings a little bit more, pics with low ligh come up better now (not as much noise as before):

Still got a lot to learn though.
