what is best for a vw golf mk 2 1800 cm3 with double carburator?
and to make a lot of noise anyone has an opinion?

go for a K&N wiv a decent cold air feed, and fashion a heat shield around the filter if possible, create a ram effect if possible. That will give you best gains, and they always sound awsome!! (K&N sound the best in all ive heard)

Agreed on the heat sheild. K+N will be fine.

having no exhaust helps with the agressive sound.
ok but really, the K+N do give a much better sound than stock. coombsie66 has the right idea
