Default 599 GTB vs McLaren SLR / Carrera GT

The test must've been rigged
Yes... I'm bitter

599 vs Carrera GT
I was certain that the Porsche would be faster this time

Interesting comparison and interesting results,

but it's two cars that I will never have the desire to own even if I could!

Pretty interesting tests and results!

I thought the 599 would beat them but it seems not...

It wasn't a surprise that the CGT won, thats an all purpose racecar but the other 2 are GT cars and you have to say the SLR looks tempting after seeing this vid..

I think the SLR is maybe better then the 599 in every way except its brakes, with are good but lack feel...

Thanks for sharing!

CGT for me. It seems less techno laden and more purpose built. The SLR has no manual transmission - so its out.

The only negative is the long front overhang and low ride height. This would be an expensive car to grind the CF splitter/underbody over bumps or strip mall entry points.

the 599 and SLR seem more evenly matched. the topic was actually intended for both cars but i stumbled upon the CGT video and decided to add it as well.

F1 transmission brings the race driver and enthusiast very close you know; and in the last race against the CGT, he even got the jump, where all the other races he didn't... its' a very inconclusive result, and has little to do with the driver of either car IMHO... are you just perhaps a Ferrari fanboy

Speaking of ride height, that 599 looked a bit higer to me than in those other videos I have seen....maybe its just the weight distrubution because of the full throttle? Nice videos non the less.

why? it's not designed for lightning fast launches... quick ones are a side effect of its power... but the roll-on + track lap times + track drivability are far more important to people like me
