I've always thought the porsche boxster and 911 carrera were well over priced for the performance you get for your money. VW's are overrated.German piece of junk.Girls love them but even my friend with a 01 Jetta said he's never by another one.Their less reliable than most of the korean cars these days.

Come on, the G35 is hot, and it handles like a dream. Buying a V-8 with more power wouldn't nessesarily be faster (and isn't in this case). G35 0-60 is like 5.6 with a manual. GS430 is 5.9, according to car stats.com

Statements like "handles like a dream"... I'm not convinced, I gotta see a 4 door raced on Best Motoring and drive one myself. And even then, isn't the lexus still rooomier and gives a softer ride? Overall, the lexus is still a better car in this 4 door class, and the G35's overrated in relation.

However, I bet in a couple years, there will be a G45 ( V8 ) . NOW THAT WILL BE AN INTERESTING CAR!

For the time being, I'm thinking Caddy's CVT with the LS1 motor's the best in this class.

First of all the G-35, and GS-430 are not in the same class, the 430 is bigger. Secondly the G-35 is an extremely smooth ride, and it does handle like a dream. Caddillacs next car is not the CVT, its the CTS-V, and the CTS has a horrible bland interior, with plastic, only thing saving it is the LS1

CTSV, CVT, ABS, DSP, damn all these letters to H.E.L.L. !!!

so the GS430 IS bigger, and the G35's against the BMW 3series and caddy CTSV.

bland interior? they're all bland, they're supposed to be bland. they're all either bland, posh, or gaudy.

I dont buy any statement "it handles like a dream". Do you write for MOTOR TREND (j.k.) ? It might handle as neutral as a 3series. It might even have as good steering feel as a 3 series, but I dont see any 1.2 G lateral acceleration numbers.

Come on BEST MOTORING, let's see some racing and drifting vids of the G35 4-door!

g35 and lexus gs430 is not in the same class

one is aroudn 50000cdn on the road, and the lexus is like 85000+on the road

g35 i think is the best car in that price range, nice interior good engine and handling etc

i think nsx is over priced,,, is not that it has teh honda badge, is that, it only has 290hp on a 145000+cdn car.. i can get a 350z with 287hp for like 50000

Ferraris and mercedes sometimes dont represent great value for money. For example the clk is a class coupe with the price of an E-class. The 3 series is a better car in many aspects and is cheaper than the clk. Ferrari 360 has the same performance with the c5 Z06 and it is two and a half times more expensive. If you want a great value for money supercar look at Corvettes.

Aston Martin Vanquish - love it but too expensive.
Mercedes cars in general... all of them are quite expensive IMO
Gillet vertigo - ok exclusive & yes I like it but a bit pricy
all lada's - they should be given away for free
Lotus Elise
MG Xpower SV
Mini Coopers (the new ones)
Smarts (should be about the price of 2 matchbox cars)

Why, well it's not the same thing as: I don't like it, or I don't think it's fast.

I think it's overprices because the basis for this car isn't that expensive and when a mass production car company would make a similar car, it would probably be cheaper. But I'm not a person that thinks he's right all the time, I must say I know something about cars but I'm still learning more and more so I know I could well be mistaken...

But it has an old 1.8litre rover engine, the build quality is poor and I still think 35000euro is a lot of money.

Actually, buying a Jaguar now compared to in the 80s is much better value for money. Jaguars from the 80s are very unreliable. You got a nice looking car with a great engine, but as soon as you took delivery from the dealer it would start corroding and falling apart. Jaguar got a big reputation for their unreliability. When Ford took over they obviously wanted to make money, their objective was not to let Jaguar mess about as they were doing when they bought the company. So Jaguar had to get rid of the bad image. The only way to do that is to start with building reliable cars. Ford put a lot of money in that and it paid off. The Jaguar XJ is one of the most reliable cars around. IMO they're still highly attractive and characterful and they're actually offering better deals than the competition right now.
