Default Windows Vista

Way to go Microsoft! The unimaginative minds have created a slower shittier product but with "WOW!" factor.

Hey, sh1t happens

I've had the final CD's for a month now. MSDN even sent me several CD's for free... And since I have a volume license key, I can (if so choose to) use it on all my computers.

I think I'll wait until hardware catches up tho'...

Been using the RTM Business version on my laptop.. I actually kinda like it.. definitely more "entertaining" with the new graphics.. but new things like the address bar navigation is nice. (kinda hard to explain how it's different)

Funny how MS demos Vista on iMacs...

I just read an article that there are no performance hits when playing games in Vista vs. XP.

The Aero interface "shuts down" when playing a game.

^ trust me.. you need a min of 2gig to play games.. the OS alone uses over 300MB of mem.. and no game runs smooth on 1gig.. with 2gig there is almost no performance hits..

hehe. I run linux. I'll virtualize XP if I need it, but right now I don't have any plans on buying Vista. Especially since I get better eye candy with Beryl.

I thought the OS uses all the memory to help speed up the startup times for applications. Wouldnt make sense if it kept all that crap in memory when starting up a game.

Nobody is FORCING anyone to upgrade.

If what you have is workig, why change it? Just because it's new?

I have some systems on Win2KPro, some on Win2kServer and some on XP-Pro. 1 is on Win2k3, but unless I have specific hardware, drive rof components support need, I don't and won't be upgrading

That way, by the time I do decide to move up, the required hardware is cheap
