Default Cheap 60GB PS3

I'm in a bit of a bind. Since I got my LCD TV I've been tripping out on 720p/HR HDTV vids, PC gaming and my Xbox 360. I've enjoyed it so much that I'm thinking of getting a HD DVD & a BD video player.

Thus bringing me to the PS3. I've always thought to wait for the first price cut before buying one as by that time it would already have a healthy library of good games to choose from. The prices below are making me think twice though.

US$482.18 = sealed JP PS3 60GB w/o warranty from a stranger. Pick up only
US$524.11 = sealed US PS3 60GB w/o warranty from a stranger. Pick up only
US$555.56 = sealed HK PS3 60GB w/ warranty from a trusted source. Mailed to my doorstep

I'd like to get the US PS3 so I can play GT4 in 1080i and be able to play Region 1 DVDs.

JP PS3 is so freaking cheap and that's about it.

So what do you think? Which among the PS3 should I get and whether I should even get a PS3 this early.

I thought US$600 would net you a brand-spanking-new console?

I think as a games console, for gamers, the PS3 is too expensive.

But if you're gonna be using it as a BluRay player, then it seems like a steal compared to the price of other BluRay players.

I had a quick go on GT HD the other day, and it is FQ-ing marvelous. 0X

The $600 is Sony USA's SRP w/o tax. The prices I mentioned are from independent importers' final price.

Lol - my bad.

I think you should go for it anyway... price cuts might not happen soon, and if you want something, then i reckon you should get it. Theres no point hanging around
