It's not the actual road going 917 is it? LOL IIRC, only one was built!
917's weren't turbocharged except the Can Am cars...

this is a 100% street car.
Some might argue its 1 of 5... but the fact is that the other 4 aren't anything like this one... hence why those "5" are usually called "4" because this one is unique also because 99% of the people dont know about this one

It's older then Yellowbird, and faster then Yellowbird too

Hmm, I must be thinking of something else then! LOL

Either way, I look forward to your review.

Hey RC, thanks for all this info and pics! I've always been interested in the Yellowbird, but could never find anything decent on it -- till today

Well - just be sure to note that this car is a 1993 version of the 1987 car built using a 1990 C4 platform

If you are not careful - people might come after you for claiming this is the original Yellowbird... rather than just one of the last 2 Yellowbirds...

Incredible you were able to locate one of the last two CTR's and being able to do an in depth on it. Especially thanks for all the detailed interior pics. Such pics are very hard to find on the net

Very nice pictures i really love ruf's
The early ruf's are the most hardcore of them all.
And the coolest thing about ruf is they are always much better than porsche's they are base on.

I have done performance calculation on the black ruf.
Pretty good performance for car of the early 90's.
Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 550
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1375
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 406.42
0 - 60 (Secs) : 2.98
0 - 100 (Secs) : 7.03
60 - 100 (Secs) : 4.05
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 11.43
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 127.52
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 11.03
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 131.96

It just screams and pushes... hard and fast... like an angry German at Oktoberfest after you take away his Bierstein..

The 2WD version of the Yellowbird has been clocked at under 7 seconds to 100mph, thats with less power, less gears and 2 less wheels with drive through them.

in the words of its' owner "who ever said its' a porsche?"
I think I might just know what it is. If it has a brilliant racing history and is 'flatter' than usual, I think I might have it
