Default Mercedes - Benz SLS AMG Gullwing Coupe Official Pics

Ooooh. I like this. No doubt it'll be powered by one of Mercedes' maniacal supercharged V8s, almost matching the SLR in downright power. The cabin looks miles better than the SLR's. And it looks like it comes in actual colors, not just greytone. Me likey. AND IT'S GOT GULLWINGS!!! I'm a sucker for pointlessly elaborate apertures.

I like the swoopy rear in the rendered drawing; you can see the original shape in there. Not digging the front too much. It's too "blocky" and doesn't seem to mesh well with the rear curves. The interior looks decent, but nothing gasp-worthy.

Cant they outlaw foottraffic to get away from these ugly pedestrian friendly front ends?

I have the feeling this is gonna be an awesome car, what I do not like though is it being right below the SLR, this should be the top MB car...

The edmunds.com review seems to imply this is a much better car than the SLR. It's down a little on horsepower but seems to make it up in spades with a better transmission, less weight, better driver feedback, and superior handling. It'll also probably be much more affordable (for rich people).

I'm sure down the line, AMG will make further tweaks to a special edition version that'll put the 722 to shame on the straightaways.

Not bad, but not really great either. I'm a little disappointed actually. This didn't translate as well from the original Gullwing, as the Ford GT did from the GT40. I'm sure it'll perform nicely from all the reviews I've read, but for the money, give me the 458 or LP560.

I think it looks magnificent, but like mayer says, for the money I could get something a whole lot more exciting...
