250 GTO (Ferrari, that is, for newbies) - original you cannot get cheaper than 5 million £ (yes, £ and not $).

You guys gotta stop sayin its a waste of money. 4.6 mil is probably chump change to the guy who bought it. Otherwise that money would probably just be sittin in a bank somewhere. If that is how the man enjoys life, then let him be.

Yep. You guys should see what 250GTOs go for. I head 20mil once. Dont know if its true. It said that a famous racer drove it at MM or TF or something.

Highest price ever paid for a car is for a 250 GTO. Swiss broker had the deal sealed to a japanese buyer for 27MM, so he bought it for 22. Deal fell through, and he was stuck with the car.

The car is now in a local collector's hands (here in the bay area - friend of a friend), who paid $4MM.

the 250GTO is the holy grail of collectors...do not expect to find one under 10 these days. It's not 1989 again, but with the currency fluctuations going on, there's a strong market emerging and cars are leaving the US... of course, we won't see the likes of the 89 japanese collectors again, IMO.
